Family Support

Family Support

Our Family Support Worker at Tidbury Green School is Mrs L Price, she is on hand to offer support, help and advice to families in school.

Parents are welcome to call our office number on 01564 823 189 or come in to discuss any issues or problems they may be facing as families, or concerns regarding their children.

In addition, if help or support is needed with understanding or filling in paperwork, or just some general information then please come to our drop-in session on a Thursday morning between 8.45 and 9.30am.

If there is something you need help with, we can help you find the answers or just be a friendly ear.

The Solihull Approach is about emotional health and wellbeing for all children, their parents, carers and grandparents. We are passionate about sensitive relationships, early years support and understanding brain development to help nurture kind, emotionally aware children as they grow.

Solihull Approach brings together a core team of NHS clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists, health professionals, and child and family practitioners, together with schools and parents to develop training to support people who work with children in ANY setting as well as for ALL parents who want to support and nurture emotional health.

The Family Information Service

The Family Information Service (FIS) provides information and advice to families to help them to access childcare, activities, support services, funded childcare places and free school meals in Solihull.

Search the Family Information Service Directory, apply for funded childcare places, view information on parenting services, join the Parents Network to receive information on family activities and events, report a child at risk and find out how to become a foster carer.

We provide free, good quality, pre-loved children’s clothes to families in need. These are available through a referral system, and we accept referrals from statutory organisations (for example the Family Information Service) across the Birmingham and Solihull area.

 

 

The Solihull Here to Help team provide information and sources of help with, money and essentials, food, energy and fuel, staying safe and well, getting online, carers etc, partnered with Foodbank Network, Act on Energy and Citizens Advice.

The Solihull HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) Programme is funded by the government and aims to offer a healthy meal and enriching activities for children from reception to Year 11, in receipt of benefits-related free school meals (FSM), during the Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays.

These are free of charge to the parent/carer of eligible children with a maximum number of sessions that can be booked per child per holiday period.

Four family Hubs are located in the Solihull Borough, offering a wide range of drop-in services for the local community, providing support for children and adults.

Kooth is a free, safe, and anonymous online platform where young people can access mental health support whenever they need it. 

The Waiting Room is a one-stop directory for health and wellbeing services across Birmingham and Solihull.

Solar, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive health care service to those people living in Birmingham and Solihull who are experiencing mental health problems.
