Our School Council plays an integral role at Tidbury Green School!
We feel it is very important that our pupils get a say in matters affecting their school. From Reception to Year 6, two children are democratically elected by their class and serve on the School Council for the academic year. One of their roles is to represent their class’ views but there are many others including interviewing prospective staff.
Our School Council have been so proud of their new pupil booklet, which they created with Mr Griffiths to welcome all the new pupils joining our school. This was submitted to the "Speaker's School Council Awards 2017" which is a national competition run by the Speaker of the House of Commons. Even though they were not successful on this occasion, everyone at Tidbury Green is proud of their achievement and we are very pleased to be able to display this badge.
Below are some photographs from when the Solihull Travel Team came in to visit the School Council and Eco Team about changes to Solihull. They're currently writing a Green Paper about how Solihull is going to change over the next 20 years (e.g. with housing developments and the expansion of Touchwood). The children did various activities - including reading a local map - in order to give their views on these changes.
